Thanks for joining us and I hope you can drop by regularly and delight us with your makings!
Toward the end of last year I made a few things for my Advent Swap partner Miriam. Her favourite colours are blue, green and purple, and she loves paisley and little houses. You will no doubt see this recurring theme over the next few weeks! For some bizarre reason I decided to try quite a few things I had never done before... one of them... Cathedral Windows...
Some of the reasons for wanting to do this is because Miriam lives in Christchurch (which always makes me think of the Cathedral) and she is an amazing seamstress. A Cathedral Window Pincusion. I saw a gorgeous example and tutorial on Pinterest and that was that.
I was amazed at how much fabric, folding and ironing it takes to create these. And lucky for me it wasn't too hard! I was happy with the end result and it was well received : )
As promised there will be a giveaway this month! Everyone who links up throughout the course of the month will automatically be entered into the draw. This month, my lovely friend Lisa from Lydia's Treasures is our sponsor.
We will have a some fabric and maybe even a few extra goodies from her shop to giveaway this month (picture to come). Make sure you visit and support her!
Looking forward to seeing what you've been making : )

Amazing Amazing Amazing I really want to give Cathedral Windows a go!
ReplyDeleteIt is so gorgeous and already happily in ue. LOVE it and the colours are so perfect xxx
ReplyDeleteMiriam was so spoiled - you made her such gorgeous things!
ReplyDeleteit looks beautiful, but very complicated to my simplistic-when-it-come-to-sewing-anything mind!
ReplyDeletei like the idea behind it too x
Beautiful pincushion :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind but I've linked up with a paper project rather than a sewing one. And I'm just off to visit the other joinee's to see what they've been making :-)
I have always loved cathedral windows. How great does it look in the bright colours with fresh white in between! I'm so keen to give it a go, but I feel I have so many big projects on the go....No wait, Lala and I did some cute paper craft on the boat, I shall have to take pictures so I can show and tell.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I must add it to me sewing to do list.
ReplyDeleteLove the pincushions! Just found your blog! Am now a new follower. Like the idea of linking up things we have made. What days do you do it? Looking forward to reading more of your blog!
