Show & Tell: Fuzzy Covers

Hiya, how're you doing?

Show & Tell Thursday's

This week I'm still on the hottie covers... Have you signed up, or made any yet? There's still time if you're keen!

During the week I hooked up a couple of "girly" covers to join the space-ships from last week.

Nothing complicated - a rainbow and a warm cosy red one with a snowflake on it. But they are soft and feel delicious!

They'll be joining the other covers and wing their way to Christchurch in a couple of weeks. And hopefully keep a little one nice and warm on these cold nights.

What scrummy things have you been working on? Looking forward to seeing your inspiring link-ups!
Thanks for popping in!

Only in fairytales...

For the last few weeks a bit of magic has been happening down our street... We captured the moment... carefully so as not to disturb this fairytale scene come true...

23/52

L:  Relishing moving and swinging, having a lovely time. You have "shot up" in the last few months and your langauge has come along leaps and bounds. You're talking and behaving like "a big girl" more and more and we can just see how very much you are enjoying this new phase and stage.

H:  Catching and collecting the falling leaves - we've had gorgeous weather this weekend and you've all enjoyed being outside in the fresh crisp air. You too are getting older - ready for new challenges, your behaviour evolving into the next phase. So ready for school that during your visit this week no-one even realised you were visiting!

A:  You are loving helping and doing jobs. Raking leaves, folding washing, doing the dishes... just delightful! My favourite memory of you this week is coming to collect you after school disco. Face flushed, sweating, and so high with excitement! You had a ball! I asked if you found and danced with your friends... nope, you said, you just got in amongst it and enjoyed yourself. It is so you! We could just imagine you dancing like crazy, in your own world, smiling that joyous smile, away with the fairies and happy as larry. You are just a ray of independent sunshine :)

Show & Tell: We have liftoff!

Hello, hello, can you read me?

Show & Tell Thursday's

I have had great fun the last few days sewing up Hottie Covers for the Hottie Project. Whilst trying to dream up some cool ideas for boys ones, one of the girls started talking about spaceships.... aha!

The internet was perused and some cool pictures were located. 400% enlargement later, they were the right size for our covers. Commence cutting hotties from wool blanket cutoffs, tracing rockets onto Visoflix, ironing onto fabric, cutting out, ironing onto covers, machine applique, some binding of edges and a final sew-around.

Whoop! Man I loved making these. Those rockets really got me fired up - they were so much fun!

Hopefully some little boys (and a couple of girls ; ) ) will love them even more than we do!

What awesome projects have you been working on? Looking forward to seeing your makes or works in progress!
Thanks for dropping in!

Stationery Swap Goodies

In April I signed up for Lisa's Stationery Swap... Gosh that seems a long time ago!!

My partner was Kerrie from One Paisley Apple.  She was happy to be "surprised" in terms of style and colours so I had a field day at Typo selecting items I hoped she would enjoy as I really liked them!

Here's what was sent:

A lovely journal, magnetic peg memo holder, wooden initial, pen, hello kitty bulldog clips, gift/note cards, animal post it tags.

All wrapped up in different fabric along with some lollies and chocolate.

And here is what I received from Kerrie:

Lovely goodies contained in a vintage tablecloth and a handmade brooch or hairclip.

A journal, coloured markers(!) notepads, cards, tags and bookmarks with a lollipop for each of the girls.

Thanks Lisa for hosting the swap and thanks Kerrie for our lovely goodies!  They've been put to good use already!

Have you joined any great swaps lately?

A:  My darling girl so full of life - busy collecting leaves around the backyard for a play party with your sisters. So focussed on your self-imposed job. This week you put on a show for us - singing and dancing to your heart's content - classic.

L:  You were so happy with yourself for conquering the playground pole - it was hilarious to watch you reach for it carefully and slide down with your legs dangling and not really helping to process. You were having a ball :)

H:  You had your first school visit on Friday... it may have been mufti day but you had been counting down the sleeps and then hours till you could finally go on your visit and you were not going to go in anything but your uniform. So big and grownup, and so ready for it you are. Mum is still getting there...
