Show and Tell - Hoopla

Hi Everyone!

Show & Tell Thursday's

Time is zippytydoodaing by and I cant believe we're back at Thursday already!

Leading up to Christmas I got my hoop on and created these little guys.  All inspired by various Pinterest Pins.

These two were for Miriam as part of the Advent Swap.

And then this one for Cat for Christmas.  It has batting on the back and is hand-quilted in alternate blocks to give it definition, depth and texture.

I struggled with the backs and tried different things for them all.  I finally felt comfortable with this method for finishing hoop backs.

Have you attempted Hoop Art?  Any tips or tricks to share?  Would love to hear your thoughts!

    I really want to make some hoop art of my own now, Miriam scored big time having you as a partner, you made some gorgeous creations for her and that one for cat is perfect :)

    These are awesome I finish my hoops with fabric stitched on. The top one hangs in my sewing room - You'll be able to see it in April!!!!!!!!!!! :o)

    love the hoops!! So cool to turn a traditional thing (for cross stitch) into something modern and creative!

    the backs of hoops scare me, i'll need to check out that link you posted for finishing them!

    Absolutely love these! Such a great idea! I have once just placed vintage fabric in them but never thought to add buttons or make it patchwork. This is really lovely. May use the ideas for the craft swap Im joining if you dont mind. Ive linked my recent makes!x
