Show & Tell: Candyfloss warmth
Hellow again!
A couple of months ago I was asked to create a hottie for a lady's grandddaughter. Something sweet and girly for a little dot who likes pink and purple and is pretty much a bundle of candyfloss : )
I jumped at the chance, and was super excited and then... too many options! What to do?! Cant decide?!! However, a decision was made and this emerged. Pinky, purplish and without a shadow of a doubt girly!
I received a wonderful message once it was received and have seen photo's of an utterly delighted little girl - it hit the mark and they were wrapped with it - phew, relief! Bubbly insides, happy dance : )
Do you enjoy the scope of the unknown or do you like specific direction? What exciting big or little creations have you been making?
Looking forward to having you pop in and say hi and share your delights with us!

PS: This hottie was made using my own hottie, toadstool and flower patters. They are available from my Etsy shop, or you can order and purchase your very own customised cover :)

We had such a great winter celebration weekend - ice-skating, roasting marshmallows, hot chocolate, winter decorations, special outfits, delicious winter meal and pudding, winter games, and magical lantern walk in the dark... You girls had a ball, and I dont think I will forget the looks of utter enjoyment, delight and magic on your faces. How warm you made my heart with your tenacity and joy on the ice, such troopers. And the mesmerized faces with your lanterns, singing and walking in the dark... Absolutely magical!
H: After ice-skating for the first time, then roasting marshmallows, came hot chocolate.... and you were going to have every last morsel...
L: Fire and marshmallows - what an absolute treat for a little girl, seriously yummy!
A: Putting up decorations for the party - you love parties, love decorations, love setting the scene - love love being involved.

Show & Tell: A pinnie for the win
Hello Lovelies,
This may just be the final party post! Imagine that!
The birthday girl needed a special party outfit of course. Again I wanted to keep it simple and have it outlast the occasion. A reversible pinafore seemed perfect and versatile.
Zebra on the outside, orange on the inside. Or vice-versa! Heidi chose the fabric and buttons, and has enjoyed wearing her special outfit - with stripey tights of course!
What loveliness have you been creating?
Looking forward to seeing your goodies : )

28 & 29/52
L: Serious story telling, collecting, mucking about and a few outings these last couple of weeks - your expressive little face and complete and utter self(and mind!)-assuredness never fail to lead to some form of amusement.
A: My precious big girl. How you love and care for your younger sisters and people around you is something to be treasured. Last week you lost your first tooth - oh my word the excitement! You knew the fairy would come to collect it and take it away to build little houses for wee mice... your innocence is beautiful. Your tooth waited in the little toothfairy pillow beside your head as you fell asleep and you were utterly shocked to find a coin for your tooth in the morning. Bless your little heart xx
H: In your own wee world - singing away to yourself most of the time. We had a wee incident with the Emu at the zoo over the holidays - that big bird got really friendly and gave you a massive shock! However now you love it and couldn't wait for us to go say hi on the next visit. Your posture, serious face, hands behind your back - is so you.

Show & Tell: Zebra's for Africa
And it continues! Only for a couple weeks more : )
Being winter with rather wet weather about, we decided to maximize party space indoors by not having a table and chairs for the kids to sit at. Instead we decided on cushions, which could then be used to play musical cushions and also be taken away as party favours.
We got a bunch of cushions from Harvey Furnishings, zebra patterned flannelette from Spotlight (both hugely reduced) and made simple envelope-back covers. Easy peasy.
All the kids got a Zebra tail attached when they arrived, which they got to take home too. A Zeal of Zebra's in an instant!
Very simply made from some zebra fleece, fake fur (the Anzac sale at Spotlight saved us a fortune!), and safety pins that were zig-zag stitched onto the tails. Again they didn't take much time at all - bonus!
Haivng mums email and tell us that the tails were worn for days, cushions slept on, and both items taken to kindy/school for "news" was just delightful. Made the little extra effort so worthwhile - both on the day and beyond!
How're your holidays going? Have you been able to make anything - with of without the kids?
Cant wait to see!
Have a great Thursday everyone!

Show & Tell: Bebe Bunting
Hiya! How're your school holidays going?
I made some bunting for the party a few weeks ago. I wanted it to outlive the occasion so refrained from adding any numbers.
It's double sided, zebra patterned and orange - of course :)
Now it proudly lives in the girls room on her bed. All for her and we can whip it out for any future "Heidi" occasions.
What have you been up to? Any particular holiday makes or activities?
Looking forward to having you pop in and share!

H: A few tired people in the house this weekend... what's a girl to do but have a wee lie-down...anywhere!
L: Your little delighted face - what is it about balloons that are so magical?
A: You and your sisters, playing, laughing, smiling... so sweet! Funny conversation resulting from Daddy forgetting to do something on Friday night; Daddy: "Sorry Anya, I completely forgot! My brain must have gone on holiday already!". Anya giggling: "Yes, maybe it's gone on holiday with all the other brains?!" So cute and funny x

Blue is wonderful too
For Miriam's Little Bit of Wonderful Colour Swap, I was teamed up with Georgina, one of Miriam's friends in Australia. Georgina's favourite colour is blue, duck egg blue to be specific! My favourite colour is blue too so I had even more fun creating a package for her : )
The items were based on the things she enjoys and likes. I forgot to take a photo but each parcel had a wee note/clue on it and also a personal note complete with a poem (well the first stanza) that I love.
Something old: A second hand book
Something new: Small blue glass vase
Something borrowed: Book borrower cards
Something blue: Nail polish
My mama always said: Chocolates
Magic: Blue crochet mushroom
Nipper grabber: Blue mini tongs
All that sparkles is not gold: Blue sprinkles
Mollie, my sisters, and I fell out, and what do you think it was all about?: Coffee
Roses are Red, Violets are blue, when you're in bed or have a sore leg, I can come too!: A wheat-bag
Fee fi fo fum: Blue jelly beans
Thanks again Miriam for organising a really fun and happy swap!

Show & Tell: Once, Twice, Three times a Zebra
Happy Thursday!
The birthday girl requested a Zebra cake for her birthday... for the 3rd year running. New ideas were not exactly popping up quite as easily this time... I figured, maybe a whole Zebra? Of sorts?
This is how it turned out - a bit knackered looking but an awake zebra none-the-less ; )
The inside kept true to theme too. This is the recipe I used and I can confirm it was a scrum yum cake.
Decorating took longer than expected... as it always does for me, but lucky I had a good chunk of time to devote to the little guy.
Things I learned/recommend: Baking a dome cake takes almost twice as long than a normal cake. Once you pass the original suggested cooking time, test and check the cake every 5 to 10 minutes to see how it's progressing. Also, I did a test run a week prior - something I was very happy about, as it gave me a great idea of what to expect and reduced a lot of potential and unnecessary panicking.
I wonder what next year will bring? Might have to start thinking about it sooner rather than later ;)
Thanks for stopping by guys - you're always encouraging and always inspiring!
Looking forward to seeing what you've been up to!

A little bit of wonderful rainbowness
A few weeks ago I signed up for Miriam's Little Bit of Wonderful Colour Swap. And last week I received my parcel from Treena-Marie - surprise!
Treena sent me a rainbow of goodies - lots of lovely wrapped goodies. It was a delight not knowing who was sending to me and then unwrapping it all! And a bunch of lovely quotes accompanied the notes, straws, cotton, nail polish, washi tape, container, pens, game, pencils, chocolate, jellybeans and loom bands. All delightful!
Thanks Miriam for organising and hosting and Treena-Marie for a fun parcel!
Did you sign up? Who was your lucky recipient?
Hope you're having a good week so far!
