I tend to avoid pins wherever I can. Maybe if I get more into quilting, it will get used more. As for gifting handmade items, I clearly remember the first time I did this - it was some hand painted wooden letters of my friend's daughter's name and I had decorated them with some fake flowers - it sounds awful, but I thought it looked nice. Even so, I worried so much that she would hate it and I would be labelled 'thrifty' by not purchasing something from a shop (well, I purchased all the materials for the project, but you know what I mean). I needn't have worried because my friend loved it. That gave me the confidence to make more things, but I am still always nervous about how they are received. I was given some pretty incredible handmade Christmas decorations last year, and I LOVED them all ;) but I know not everyone feels like that which is what makes it so hard to join in with the ornament swaps that I see pop up towards the end of the year. Anyway, that was a long spiel. I hear you on the busyness - everything seems to speed up towards Christmas.Leanne Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13727719061824152169noreply@blogger.com
